It is with sadness that we share UCCS retiree Valerie “Vickie” Bivens-Young passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 7. She started at UCCS in 1983 as a Library Assistant, later transferring to Human Resources. She left UCCS in 1997 to work at the Colorado Department of Corrections but returned to the UCCS Human Resources Department in 2002 where she remained until her retirement in 2016. She was a dear colleague and friend and will be missed.
