Staff governance at UCCS has offered critical guidance for campus leadership over the past year. Key policy recommendations have included more compassionate snow day leave policies and a change to annual evaluations that allowed for changed job duties due to COVID-19, among others.
With the annual election season underway, Staff Association is seeking nominations for elected representatives.
Staff Association Elections: Apr. 5–10
Staff Association is accepting nominations and self-nominations for elected positions on the Staff Association Executive Board until Mar. 10.
Different from positions on volunteer committees, elected positions allow staff members to vote on policies and ballot issues, as well as take part in monthly meetings with the Chancellor and Cabinet.
The open positions are as follows:
- Vice President/President Elect (three-year term)
- Secretary (one-year term)
- Treasurer (one-year term)
- Member-at-Large for University Staff (one-year term)
- Member-at-Large for Classified Staff (one-year term)
- Chair of the University Staff Pay and Benefits Committee (two-year term)
Nominations are due Wednesday, Mar. 10 via email to Melissa Baglio, University Staff Member-At-Large. Staff members may nominate themselves and their colleagues for open positions. Elections will take place Apr. 5–10, 2021.
