Members of the UCCS Class of 2020 donated almost $3,500 for the annual class gift. Graduates were encouraged to designate gifts to Clyde’s Cupboard Food Pantry or M.O.S.A.I.C., the Multicultural Office for Student Access, Inclusiveness & Community, although gifts to any fund were accepted.

Started by the Class of 2015, the senior gift has raised nearly $50,000 for UCCS students. The goal for the seniors was both participation and to “pay it forward” for the next generation of students.

Graduates who gave at least $25 received a blue cord as a memento to wear during the virtual commencement ceremonies on Dec. 18. They may wear the cord again if they choose to participate in future in-person commencement ceremonies.

The fall graduates also included a number of legacy students who are children of UCCS graduates and who wore black and gold cords.

The Class of 2020 is still invited to donate through the Clyde’s Crowd platform.
