UCCS faculty, staff and students participated in a Remembrance Day National Roll Call on Nov. 11 in celebration of Veterans Day.
At more than 100 colleges and universities across the nation, the names of more than 6,700 military personnel killed in Iraq and Afghanistan wars were read. The reading began at 7 a.m. and continued until 4:45 p.m.
The event was organized by the Office of Veteran and Military Student Affairs, which also held an open house Monday to showcase campus services offered to veterans and their families. OVMSA also hosted a Veteran’s Day 5k Run & 3k Walk through campus on Nov. 9, and is displaying a number of art pieces created by UCCS and Colorado Springs veteran and military students in the Kramer Family Library Apse until Nov. 30.
