Soccer teams end regular seasons, qualify for tournament

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's and women’s soccer teams qualified for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference end-of-season tournaments and will play Nov. 6 in Grand Junction.

The men’s soccer team, which compiled a 6-7-3 record this season, will face third seed Colorado Mesa University at 6 p.m., Wednesday, in Grand Junction.

During the regular season, UCCS and Colorado Mesa tied twice. The winner of this game will play second seed Colorado School of Mines Nov. 8 at Regis University, Denver. Regis was the regular season champion.

The women’s soccer team completed its season with a 9-7-1 record and also qualified for the conference tournament.

The Mountain Lions will play third seed Fort Lewis College at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 6 to open the first round of the RMAC tournament in Durango.

This will be the third meeting between UCCS and FLC this season. The Mountain Lions and Skyhawks split the first pair of games.

UCCS has qualified for the RMAC tournament four times in the six-year history of the program. Wednesday's matchup will be the third time the Mountain Lions and Skyhawks have met in the conference tournament.

The games will be streamed to televisions at Clyde’s in the University Center.
