This October, give yourself a shot of good health with flu shots

The least wonderful time of year is here: Flu season.

There’s a lot to love about the fall and you can delight in seeing the turning leaves, but to truly enjoy the view, you’ll want to avoid being part of the population that contracts the flu virus. Give yourself a shot at good health by getting your flu shot with multiple opportunities on campus in October.

Employees

Employees can receive flu shots at UCCS from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 14 and Oct. 17 in University Center 303. The shots are free for CU Health Plan primary members and their spouses, and $26 for non-CU Health Plan members Other insurance carriers may be accepted. To register, follow the instructions through CU Employee Services.

CU Health Plan members are also eligible for a free shot at their doctor’s office or pharmacy. If you carry health insurance but it’s not accepted during the UCCS visits, you may be able to receive a free shot at your doctor’s office.

Students

Flu shots are available for $20 for students at the Gallogly Recreation and Wellness Center. Walk-in shots are available if there are no other scheduled visits, but it is best to make an appointment at (719) 255-4444.

Employees & Students

Flu shots for faculty, staff and students will be available for $20 at the Health Fair Oct. 22 at the Gallogly Recreation and Wellness Center. Health services staff will be able to bill insurance at the health fair.
