LAS dean search committee named

A 15-member committee will be charged next week with seeking a new dean for the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences.

Peg Bacon, provost, announced the committee members. The committee will meet May 17 to begin the process of selecting a replacement for Tom Christensen, dean, College of Letters, Arts and Sciences since 2005. Christensen announced in March his plan to return to teaching and research as a professor in the Department of Physics and Energy Science. (More)

Campus P.O. Box closes this summer

As of July 1, P.O. Box 7150 will no longer be used as a mailing address for UCCS. The change is more than two years in the making. Larry Lawrence, administrative assistant, Mail and Shipping, described plans for more efficient mail service in the Jan. 30, 2009 issue of Communique. He announced that the UCCS street address, 1420 Austin Bluffs Parkway, Colorado Springs, CO, 80918, would be the single campus address. (More)

Colorado General Assembly approves mission change for UCCS, CSU-Pueblo

Members of the Colorado House of Representatives voted in favor of proposed changes in the roles and missions of UCCS and Colorado State University-Pueblo Friday.

The action by the House of Representatives follows approval by the Colorado Senate. The bill, SB 11-204 now goes to Governor John Hickenlooper for his signature. (More)
