Tens of thousands of Colorado Springs residents lined Tejon St. on Dec. 1 to watch the 28th annual Festival of Lights Parade.

More than 350 UCCS community members enjoyed free cocoa, cider, treats and art before and after the parade at the UCCS Alumni and Friends Association’s “Alumni Night at the Festival of Lights featuring Jay Shinn’s ILLUMINATED” at GOCA 121, 121 S. Tejon.

During the parade, UCCS faculty, staff and students walked along side a 15-foot UCCS float being towed by a Facilities Services truck. The float was themed “Home for the Holidays” and included a fireplace, couch and students wearing a mix of UCCS spirit wear and holiday sweaters.
