Donation forms for the Colorado Combined Campaign will soon arrive in faculty and staff mailboxes and should be taken seriously, according to campus campaign leaders.
Tina Collins, executive assistant, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Success and Enrollment Management, and Iryse Naro, executive assistant, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance, kicked off the annual campaign with an Oct. 23 luncheon. The event drew 14 local agencies that depend on donations to help less fortunate members of the Colorado Springs community as well as more than 40 faculty and staff members interested in learning about how their contributions can help.
“As individuals, we are incredibly fortunate,” Naro said recently. “It’s important to remember that many members of our community are not. By giving a little, we can help a lot.”
Several local non-profit agencies are stretched thinly as a result of Waldo Canyon fire relief efforts. Others depend on donations to continue their work.
For 25 years, the CCC has brought state employees together in the spirit of helping. Contributions are tax deductible and can be made by payroll deduction, cash, check or credit card by completing paper forms. Electronic donations are possible through https://donor.united-e-way.or/?campaign=ccc12.
Collins and Naro will be guests on the UCCS internet radio station talking about the Colorado Combined Campaign at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 7. To listen, visit http://radio.uccs.edu/index.php/shows2/in-the-spotlight
