Faculty, staff recognized as preceptors

The Central Colorado Area Health Education Center honored eight UCCS faculty or staff members for their roles in helping students learn about health care careers Aug. 9 at Berger Hall.

Richard Krugman, vice chancellor for health affairs for the University of Colorado Denver and dean of the CU School of Medicine, presented preceptor awards to local health care professional who have agreed to serve as mentors and teachers to future healthcare practitioners. Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak also offered comments at the event.

The eight UCCS faculty or staff recognized a preceptors were:

  • John Crumlin, assistant professor, CU Aging Center.
  • Leilani Feliciano, assistant professor, Department of Psychology
  • Stephanie Hanenberg, director, Student Health Center
  • Vicki Schober, medical director, Student Health Center
  • Jeff Spicher, assistant professor, Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences
  • Carole Traylor, assistant professor, Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences
  • Sara Qualls, Kramer Family Professor of Aging, Department of Psychology
  • Dan Segal, professor, Department of Psychology
