Botts selected as executive assistant

Veteran College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences staff member Sheryl Botts was named executive assistant in the Office of the Provost July 16.

David Moon, interim provost, announced Botts’ selection from a pool of internal candidates.

Botts joined UCCS in 2003 as an administrative assistant in the Office of the Dean for the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. She later served as program assistant and human resources and business professional. In 2012, she earned the college’s Outstanding Staff Service Award.

Prior to joining UCCS, Botts worked in the Albuquerque, N.M., public schools, as a legal secretary, and as an accounts payable and payroll administrator. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Oklahoma, Norman.

Botts replaces Kathy Englund who will retire from UCCS July 31 after 23 years of service to UCCS in positions in the Office of the Provost and the College of Engineering and Applied Science.
