Café Scientifique: How the Internet can save your ass

Charles “Chip” Benight, professor, Psychology, and director of the Trauma, Health and Hazards Center will host the latest Café Scientifique at 6:30 p.m. April 10 at Clyde’s in the University Center.

Charles “Chip” Benight

Benight’s presentation is entitled “How the Internet can save your ass!” It will focus on how the worldwide web — combined with advances in technology, such as tablets and smartphones — is not being used within the field of trauma and disaster response.

“We’re going to bring science and technology together and show how these advances can be utilized,” Benight said.

Benight will also discuss recent developments in the “app” world and share what he thinks the future holds.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own laptops, smartphones, iPads, or tablets so they can participate in an interactive show and tell.

The UCCS Department of Public Safety will provide free parking from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. April 12 in parking lots 3 and 4 located south of Centennial Hall and the University Center.

Funding for Café Scientifique is provided by UCCS Auxiliary Services.
