Members of the UCCS Professional Exempt Staff Association voted 57 to 2 to approve revised PESA bylaws. Members voted by electronic ballot from Dec. 12-16.
According to PESA President Stephanie Hanenberg, director, Student Health Center, the PESA executive board reviewed existing bylaws this past fall and made revisions to better reflect the organization’s current purpose.
“We changed the bylaws to reflect the proper name of the university, clarified the election process and roles of each officer better, defined what a quorum for our executive board meetings would be, outlined the committees individuals could serve on, and changed how often we held our executive board meetings,” she said. “There were other changes as well, but these are some of the bigger ones.”
The original PESA bylaws were implemented in 2001. After the board made the revisions, Pam Shockley-Zalabak, chancellor, and Jenny Watson Willits, assistant legal counsel, gave their approval. The executive board then gave PESA members ten days to examine the changes and provide input prior to the vote.
