Readers of the Colorado Springs Business Journal voted the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs as having the best business school in Colorado as well as the best place to earn a master’s in business degree or to complete an on-line degree.
In its annual listing of everything from the best local accounting firm to women business leaders – a total of 98 categories – the 2009 Colorado Springs Business Journal Best of Springs Business edition lauded innovative programs in the College of Business as well as its focus on building community support. More than 47,000 votes were cast in the annual survey. It is the fifth year that the College of Business has earned recognition. The results were announced July 22.
“These awards are significant to us, because our faculty and staff are dedicated to making the college a vital resource to the Pikes Peak Region,” Venkat Reddy, dean, College of Business, said. “Our success as a college is tied to our community, our students, and our alumni who continue to make us proud with their accomplishments both in town and around the world.”
UCCS Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak credited new programs in the college for raising its profile while building on long-standing high-quality efforts in core business curriculums. Along with strong traditional undergraduate and graduate programs, the College of Business offers innovative niche programs such as PGA Golf Management, Sport Management, Bachelor of Innovation and a highly ranked distance MBA program.
“The College of Business provides an excellent foundation for students to launch their futures,” Shockley-Zalabak said.
