A recently released video has a new star, the energy-saving features of UCCS.
Colorado Springs Utilities recently produced a video that highlights the energy savings possible through conservation. The video features two local businesses and the university promoting energy savings through such measures as compact fluorescent lights, composting, and solar power.
Linda Kogan, sustainability officer, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance, did the talking for the solar panels atop the new Science and Engineering Building and the Campus Recreation Center, advocating for their increased use.
“Solar energy is an excellent application for here in Colorado, especially in the Springs,” Kogan said. “We have over three hundred days of sun a year.”
