More than 200 UCCS students, faculty and staff stopped by Cafe 65 on Wednesday morning for a donut and chance to chat with members of the university’s Public Safety Department.

UCCS police hosted the Cops & Donuts event, featuring twenty dozen donuts and several police officers. They included Marc Pino, interim chief of police, and Officer Robert (Bob) Pinnock, who recently joined the force from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. William (Will) Roberts will join the UCCS police as an officer on Sept. 15.

Though Cops & Donuts has been held for the past several  years, this was its first year  in Cafe 65, making it more accessible to the campus community and prompting higher attendance, Pino said.
