New faculty join campus

Forty-nine new faculty members joined UCCS for the fall semester. Over the next few weeks, those who hold instructor, assistant professor, associate professor and professor positions will be introduced to the campus. Today’s introductions include nine instructors from the College of Business, College of Letters, Arts and Sciences and the Kraemer Family Library.

Reece Adragna
Reece Adragna

Reece Adragna, instructor, Mathematics Department, College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. He is a mathematics teacher at Sand Creek High School, Colorado Springs, and previously taught in the Mathematics Department at UCCS and at Fountain Fort Carson High School. Adragna earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UCCS.


James Adrian
James Adrian

James Adrian, instructor, Department of Biology and Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Adrian previously worked as a laboratory assistant and dissection assistant at UCCS and was a certified nurse aide at a local hospital. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Drury University, Springfield, Missouri, and a master’s degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.


Majid Arjomandi
Majid Arjomandi

Majid Arjomandi, instructor, Department of Communication, College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. Arjomandi previously worked as an adjunct instructor at UCCS, Pikes Peak Community College and Colorado State University, Pueblo. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UCCS.


Michelle Brown
Michelle Brown

Michelle Brown, instructor, English Department, College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. Brown previously was an academic adviser at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado Springs, and was a composition instructor at Colorado State University, Pueblo. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Colorado State University, Pueblo.


Katherine Cliff
Katherine Cliff

Katherine Cliff, instructor, Mathematics Department, College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. Cliff previously was a curriculum writer for Schmoop University, an online publisher, and an information technology coordinator for the UCCS Math Online Program. She earned bachelor’s degrees from Illinois State University and the University of Iowa and a master’s degree from UCCS.


Dan Deon
Dan Deon

Dan Deon, instructor, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry,  College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. Deon previously taught at Dawson College, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and a master’s from the University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.


Carlos Duarte
Carlos Duarte

Carlos Duarte, instructor, Kramer Family Library. Duarte previously was diversity resident librarian at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Mexico, and master’s degree from the University of Texas, Austin.


Jorge Estevez Mews
Jorge Estevez Mews

Jorge Estevez Mews, instructor, Physics and Energy Science Department, College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. Mews previously taught at the Community College of Aurora  and the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama, and master’s and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.


Juan Gallego
Juan Gallego

Juan M. Gallego, instructor, College of Business. Gallego previously was a lecturer at UCCS and Regis University, Denver. He also owns a consulting company. Gallego earned a bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, a master’s from Thunderbird School of Global Management, Glendale, Arizona, and a doctoral degree from University of the Rockies, Colorado Springs.
