Registration remains open, with a few slots available, for the 2016 UCCS Diversity Summit, 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. March 30 in Berger Hall.
The summit will feature keynote speakers, breakout sessions, a Community Connection Fair and a hands-on working lunch. This year’s theme is “Connecting and Collaborating Across Differences: What is Your Role in Change?”
Students, staff, faculty and the community are welcome to attend.
“To me, what’s wonderful about this summit is we’re going to have 300 people participate in this all-day summit demonstrating UCCS’ commitment to diversity and inclusiveness,” said Jeff Montez de Oca, 2016 summit chair and associate professor, Sociology Department.
The program will encompass a broad view of inclusiveness, including social, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, social identity, ideology and ability “and the way these elements intersect,” according to organizers.
Admission is free and includes lunch, but registration is required. Register at http://www.uccs.edu/~diversity/
