UCCS faculty and staff can help launch the 50th Anniversary of the campus by sharing old photographs or completing the sentence “We are …”
At the Dec. 12 chancellor’s all-campus forum, Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak encouraged faculty and staff to participate in 50th festivities by scavenging their minds, desk drawers and photo collections. The results of efforts to complete the prompt “we are,” as well as photos, will be shared at Jan. 22 kick off event.
The photos do not have to be beautiful, award-winning glamour shots of campus. Instead, photos that show people, places or events – and that spark memories – are the goal.
“Look, here’s a picture where there are no houses around campus,” Andrea Cordova, office manager, Office of the Chancellor, exclaimed while examining a snapshot submitted by a staff member. “That’s what we need – something to remind us of how much things have changed.”
Completing the prompt “We are” should be brief, Cordova explained. Faculty and staff should try to limit themselves to approximately six words such as “We are golden and growing” but she emphasized that submissions with a few more words will be included.
To share photos and to complete the prompt, visit http://www.uccs.edu/50th/photos.html. Words can be shared at http://www.uccs.edu/50th/we-are.html
Submissions requested by Dec. 16.
