Thousands of Colorado Springs residents lined Tejon Street  Dec. 6 to watch the 30th annual Festival of Lights Parade.

The mild December night drew  more than 300 UCCS community members to the UCCS Alumni and Friends Association’s “UCCS Night at the Festival of Lights” at GOCA 121, 121 S. Tejon where they enjoyed free cocoa, cider, treats and art before and after the parade.

During the parade, UCCS debuted a new float to honor the university’s 50th anniversary year in 2015. The float was designed by Steve Tragesser, associate professor, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department, and built by a team of UCCS students led by Stephen Cucchiara, assistant director, Office of Student Activities.
