UCCS arts earn awards

The Pikes Peak Arts Council honored four UCCS-related productions and exhibitions during the organization’s 14th annual awards ceremony Oct. 15 at Library 21c.Those recognized were:

Outstanding performance by an actor: Michael Lee for Silvio in “Servant of Two Masters,” THEATREWORKS.

Outstanding performance by an actress: Sue Bachman for Linda Loman in “Death of a Salesman,” THEATREWORKS

Outstanding production: Murray Ross for “Venus in Fur,” THEATREWORKS

Outstanding choreography: “Protest!” by Ormao Dance Company, UCCS Peak FreQuency Creative Arts Collective and UCCS Galleries of Contemporary Art

PPAC members attend as many performances and exhibits as they can during the year, and bring their nominations for categories to committee meetings early in the year. Twenty-five volunteer jurors served on seven committees.
