Charles Cummings, project manager, Facilities Services, said contractors will complete the roundabout and reopen Stanton Road.  In July, construction activity in the area forced the closure of Stanton Road to through traffic. The roundabout connects the Alpine Parking Garage and Field and the future Alpine Valley student housing to Stanton Road. The roundabout also provides access to the north entry to Alpine Parking Garage.

“We are pleased that access on the west side of campus will be improved with the completion of this project,” Cummings said. “But I also encourage who choose to use Stanton Road to be respectful as they drive through the neighborhood. The posted speed limit is 35 miles per hour and should be carefully observed.”

Construction will continue on Alpine Village and will last two years, Cummings said. Motorists and pedestrians should remain cautious as large vehicles will be present.
