Explore Cyber-Informed Engineering (CIE) with NREL

  • Cyber-Informed Engineering is a relatively new concept championed by Idaho National Laboratory to integrate cybersecurity concepts and considerations into design, development, and other engineering practices. Shane McFly, Sr. Cybersecurity Researcher and Emily Waligoske, Technical Project Manager, both from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) will provide an introduction to Cyber-Informed Engineering and how it has been applied at NREL and will step through the principles by way of a use case centered on the design decisions made when developing a medical device. Intersectional Legacies: Queer and Disability History

  • Come join us for LGBTQ+ History Month and Disability Awareness Month with a deep dive into the intersections of queer and disability. We’ll have a presentation on how the legalization of gay marriage in 2015 wasn’t inclusive of people with disability and the disability rights movement. Following the presentation we will head into a panel on navigating daily life as someone living at the intersections of queerness and disability.

  • Strides for Survival: Breast Cancer Awareness Walk organized by the BHSPO is a meaningful event aimed at raising both awareness and funds in the fight against breast cancer. As part of BHSPO’s mission to engage the community and support health-related causes, the walk will bring together students, faculty, and the wider community to show solidarity with breast cancer survivors, those currently battling the disease, and those who have lost loved ones to it. Our goal is to accumulate donations with proceeds going toward supporting BHSPO’s initiatives and donating to breast cancer research to advance treatment and prevention efforts. Register here.
