Over the summer, the Parking and Transportation Services department (PTS) has been working hard to bring a more efficient parking experience to the UCCS campus.
Faculty and staff will now be able to take advantage of the following updates:
- New Parking Portal Interface: Parking Services has transitioned to a new and improved parking management software.
- Single Day Permit Flexibility Expanding: “Permit Packs” are now offered for employees, which allow for either 16 or five days of parking that can be used any day of the semester. These permit packs will replace single day permits such as Monday only, Tuesday only, etc.
- Perpetual Permits for Employees: Employee permits will no longer expire unless the employee returns the permit. Moving forward, employees will no longer need to repurchase permits each semester or year. Permits may still be charged to payroll deduction or to a credit card for recurring monthly payments.
- New Discount for Employee Permits: Employees making under $85,000/year will receive a 20% discount on all parking permits. There will be no changes in price for employees making over $85,000/year.
Permits for students have not changed, although they will login and purchase permits via the updated portal.
As a self-funded auxiliary, PTS seeks to provide services and products that meet the needs and expectations of students, faculty, staff and visitors to campus and charges only what is necessary to cover operating expenses. The department says they are continually working to create greater equity in parking and to better serve the UCCS community.
