Celebrate International Education Week (IEW) with global education activities, panels, workshops and more on campus. Hosted by International Affairs, this annual week is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education celebrated by many universities across the nation.
IEW takes place the second week each November, this year from Nov. 13 – 17, with events open not just to international students and those studying abroad, but all who are interested in learning more about and celebrating global education.
“There are several Education Abroad events for those new to International Education and wanting to explore, but the Education Abroad trivia night on Tuesday is an especially great place to start,” noted Telma Frumholtz, Education Abroad Program Director.
“The Global Perspectives event on Friday night where we will show Flagmakers documentary and make American flag pins is my favorite event from this year,” added Karlye Enkler, International Student and Scholar Program Manager. “It’s an event that’s very much about bringing everyone together.”
Additionally, prizes are available for those who attend the most events this week. Every time you attend an event, you will receive a stamp from International Affairs on their own personalized UCCS IEW Passport. Each stamp you collect gets you entered into a grand prize drawing. At the end of the week, turn in your stamps with their office for the chance to get some amazing prizes!
