Free behavioral health counseling returns for faculty and staff

The HealthCircle Primary Care Clinic (PCC) at the Lane Center for Academic Health Sciences is offering free behavioral health counseling appointments for UCCS staff, faculty and patients in the campus community.

Behavioral health counseling is meant to help a person decrease depressive or anxious episodes and feel more in control of their life.

“This type of benefit is important because many of us suffer from periods of time in our lives when we are stressed, anxious or depressed, and counseling can be a very effective way to deal with these feelings,” said Jeff Spicher, Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs in the Helen & Arthur E. Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences. “These mental health services are being offered because healthcare professionals on campus recognize this as an important aspect of faculty and staff overall health.”

Appointments will be available starting the week of October 23. Faculty and staff interested in free behavioral health counseling sessions, in person or virtual, can call the PCC at 719-255-8001 to schedule.
