The Women in Cybersecurity (WiCys) UCCS chapter held a networking event at Atrevida Beer Co. on Thursday, Aug. 24.
About 60 students and industry partners attended the event, with great support from the community. Deloitte, CNA Financial, City of Colorado Springs, Equinix, Pikes Peak State College, Jacobs, Stephenson Stellar, John Deere and other representatives from both local and regional employers came to meet and network with students.
“The WiCyS Networking Event, held at Atrevida Beer Co., is designed to give our cybersecurity students the chance to network and meet mentors in local and regional industry,” said Gretchen Bliss, Director of Cybersecurity Programs. “Thursday’s event did just that. Many early-degree students were able to flex their networking skills and make key contacts with companies as wide-ranging as CNA Financial, Equinix, Deloitte, the City of Colorado Springs, Booz Allen Hamilton and others. This helps our students, not only in building networking skills, but in their ultimate quest for employment in cybersecurity.”
