UCCS welcomes the class of 2027 with move-in, Clyde’s Kickoff (new student welcome week), GPS startup days and other activities the week before classes begin. These events are designed to orient new students to campus and communicate just how much they belong to the Mountain Lion family. Students established meaningful connections, cultivated an inclusive community, and created a sense of belonging from their first year at UCCS and beyond.

Move-in was a community effort, as volunteers from departments across campus showed up to help first-years and their families move in to their dorms. University of Colorado Colorado Springs Interim Chancellor Jennifer Sobanet met with UCCS’ incoming students and helped with move-in.

After move-in, students settled into their new homes with some community building at events for Clyde’s Kickoff, UCCS’ new student welcome week hosted by UCCS Student Life, and the Gateway Program Seminar’s Gateway Days.

After events on Wednesday, Aug. 16, faculty and staff lined the Spine to cheer on the incoming students for the transformative educational journey that awaits them.
