April Showers Bring May Flowers
Tuesday, April 25 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. | West Lawn

  • Help spread the beauty of Colorado’s native wildflowers! We will be handing out wildflower seeds, soil, a watering can, and a mini shovel so you can promote the growth of Colorado’s beautiful flowers. Supplies are limited so it is first come first serve.

Pronouns 101
Tuesday, April 25 from 3 – 4 p.m. | MOSAIC and LGBTQ+ Resource Center (University Center 110)

  • This workshop is a brief introduction into what pronouns are, how to use them and how to be respectful of other peoples’ pronouns, and we will also touch on how to update pronouns in the University of Colorado Colorado Springs system. Please register in advance here.

PsiChi Researchers Social Event

  • The psychology research labs on campus have partnered with PsiChi to host an event bringing students all the relevant information they need about getting involved with psychology research on campus and the research labs at UCCS, and provide an opportunity to meet and connect with current undergraduate and graduate research assistants.

Free STI/HIV Testing
Wednesday, April 26 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. | Gallogly Recreation and Wellness Center

  • Southern Colorado Health Network will be providing free HIV/STI testing, which include hepatitis C (HCV), syphilis, chlamydia, and gonorrhea, at the UCCS Wellness Center. Check-in for the STI/HIV clinic outside of the Wellness Center. Narcan and Fentanyl test strip kits will be available for any students that are interested.

QPR: Suicide Prevention Training for Students
Wednesday, April 26 from 2:30 – 4 p.m. | University Center 124 or attend virtually

  • QPR aims to reduce suicidal behaviors and save lives by providing innovative, practical, and proven suicide prevention training. This 90-minute training will educate you to recognize suicide warning signs and empower you to act quickly to make a positive difference in the lives of those around you, and can be attended in-person or via Microsoft Teams.   • Pikes Peak Pride honors and celebrates achievements of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities in the Pikes Peak region and is hosting this presentation and panel that will address many facets to celebrating pride and ways to get involved in the Pikes Peak region. LGBTQ+ Students’ Rights in Colorado w/ Safe at Schools Coalition
Thursday, April 27 from 3 – 4 p.m. | MOSAIC and LGBTQ+ Resource Center (University Center 110)

  • This presentation, in partnership with Safe @ Schools Coalition, will discuss rights that pertain to LGBTQ+ students in K-12 and some of the current challenges. The coalition partners with El Paso County school districts, students, parents, caregivers and community members and collaborates and takes action to make schools safer for all students, regardless of sexual orientation, transgender status, gender identity or gender expression.
