More than 200 hundred UCCS community members gathered in Berger Hall to hear from local farmers and campus sustainability experts April 9 at the 2nd annual Sustainnovation.
Attendees took part in panel discussions, visited vendor booths, toured the campus greenhouse and trail system, and were treated to a student-made and local-sourced lunch.
Lyn Harwell, founder of Seeds Community Café in downtown Colorado Springs and a former operations officer for Springs Rescue Mission, joined Michael Brownlee, Boulder, in presenting “Thinking Like a Foodshed: How Local Food Will Feed the World” in a keynote address.
