The Black Educators’ Network is hosting its 10th annual literacy festival at UCCS on Saturday, April 22 in Dwire Hall from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
The annual B.E.N. Literacy festival is a completely free event and is open to all. It celebrates all facets of literacy including Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math, Music and Movement – full STEAMMM ahead! This year’s event has many fun interactive experiences for families, children and students in celebration of STEAM literacy.
The event will include storytelling, a book giveaway and workshops, as well as activities such as poster creation, lava lamp making and more. There will also be prizes, an Earth Day Walk, music and a photo booth.
Featuring special keynote addresses, a continental breakfast and engaging literacy sessions, the festival is capped off by a huge free book giveaway suitable to all ages, grades and reading levels.
