Continuing a Legacy of Excellence: UCCS student receives national honor

Emma Bonner

Emma Kate Bonner was formally accepted into the NSNA Leadership University Honor Society. The NSNA Leadership University Honor Society’s mission is to mentor students preparing for initial licensure as registered nurses, and to convey the standards, ethics and skills that students will need as responsible and accountable leaders and members of the profession.

Bonner, a Johnson Beth-El nursing student and BSNA Merchandise Director, is the first UCCS Johnson Beth-El nursing student to receive this national honor.

The award recognizes future nurse leaders for their work and involvement with their program chapters and activities. Bonner is well on her way to forming her professional identity in nursing.

“It’s a tremendous accomplishment,” said BSNA faculty advisor Sue Davis. “I am very proud of her.”

“This is a wonderful recognition of student and faculty leadership work and collaboration being done in the college to support all of our nursing students on their journeys,” said the nursing department chair Debbie Pollard.
