The UCCS softball team is in first place in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference after winning 16 of its last 18 games.
Playing in Las Vegas, N.M., on April 6, the team lost to Metropolitan State University of Denver 7-1 in the first game. The Mountain Lions defeated New Mexico Highlands University 13-7 in a second game. On April 5, UCCS defeated NMHU 13-4 and MSU Denver 4-3.
The UCCS team overall record is now 20-10. In conference play, the team is 16-7 and in first place.
On April 11 and 12, the Mountain Lions will face RMAC second-place holder CSU-Pueblo in home games at Mountain Lion Field. Game times are 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. April 11 and 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. April 12. Admission is free.
