You both did a wonderful job with Commencement this December! It went so well, and everyone had a great time. Danielle took on a lot more of the responsibilities this ceremony and it was great to see her coordinate the different teams. I love being able to see the ceremony constantly improve as we learn more from the team and beyond. I am excited to see what you come up with next! BIG kudos to you both!
To: Donald Rabern and James Gray
From: Sarah Jane Baker
Thank you to Dean Rabern and our student worker James Gray for helping me set up for my first event as a staff at UCCS! I appreciated their help with carrying things, even in the snow. Without them, the event wouldn’t have gone as smoothly. On top of that, they stayed afterwards to help me clean and pack things up. I am so grateful for them going out of their way to help me out. It made me feel very valued as a staff member here.
To: Dr. Terry Boult and Ginger Boult
From: Colleen Stiles
Thank you for working together and supporting the Bachelor of Innovation graduation celebration. The two of you work together and do all the decorating, gift organizing, sash production, and financially underwrite it. Thanks, Terry and Ginger from all of us at the Bachelor of Innovation.

Andrea goes above and beyond every year to maximize funding for our graduate students in Psychology. She also effectively manages a very large and complicated budget and endeavors to help me as Chair to keep our financial house in order. Thanks Andrea!!
To: Brad Bailey
From: Anon.
I just wanted to recognize Brad Bailey at the Kraemer Family Library. Whenever I call or need any kind of assistance, Brad is always welcome to help me…even with the silliest of questions. I am new to the Finance world and Brad has given me guidance that has helped me with all of the craziness that job involves. I am so thankful for his cheerful attitude and I feel so great after talking with him.
To: Catherine Barrios
From: Brad Bayer
Catherine Barrios, Career Coach, and the newest member of the T. Rowe Price Career & Innovation Center, is to be recognized for the positive impact she is making through her collaborative approach and student-centered insights. Welcome to the team, Catherine!
To: Christina Montoya
From: Anon.
She is the cashier in Bursar office. She always, always, always is available to all students. She goes over and above helping them, giving them handouts, explaining literally everything in detail that they are asking about, and does impromptu orientations for those students that did not attend an orientation. She will also go above and beyond to find information or get the student to the correct person or department when that is needed. She has candy available to give as a treat to anyone that comes up to the cashier cage. She never gets upset or flustered with students, no matter how many times she has to explain something that they may not understand.
To: Danielle Wright
From: Kristina Coggins
Bravo to Danielle Wright for her Summer/Fall Commencement 2022 work! Danielle has innovated Commencement since her arrival in September 2021. Danielle is always looking for ways to engage with our scholars while remaining on budget. An example of this engagement was the creation of a new photo backdrop and large photo frames for graduates to use at the World Arena. The December 2022 Commencement was her third one and the first one, she ran mostly solo. UCCS is lucky to have Danielle on board. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for Spring 2023!
To: Danielle Wright

Danielle managed the graduation process with ease and grace. She was super easy to communicate with and take care of business. Danielle is thorough, attentive, and at the same time sees the big picture. Thanks, Danielle for all you do for the Bachelor of Innovation and UCCS!
To: Deborah Glynn
From: Laura Chandler
Deb comes in clutch when I need assistance with our Columbine conference rooms. I appreciate that we help one another across the colleges. Thank you so much Deb. You are a great staff colleague!
To: Deborah OConnor
From: Anon.
I would like to give kudos to Deborah OConnor for being such a great Compliance Officer. I have worked in other organizations where the Compliance Officer was punitive and not much of a team player. I really hope UCCS appreciates how lucky our campus is to have someone like her who has such a wide breath of knowledge and experience. Any time I have reached out to her in the past 6 months she has always been willing to help or get me in contact with the correct individual. I should mention she has been one of the most welcoming individuals on campus.
To: Dewayne McCarver
From: Colleen Stiles
Chief McCarver is the new Chief of Police. I met him at graduation and he spent time with me asking questions, learning about the Bachelor of Innovation, and greeting family. What a great fit for UCCS and thanks Chief for being approachable!
To: Ernie Alfonso
From: Rose Johnson
I want to send out Kudos to Ernie Alfonso. Ernie is always willing to help both departments I support, which are the English and the TCID Program, when it comes time to order new computers, printers, batteries, cables, etc.… Ernie is so knowledgeable as to who to contact to see if there is availability and to work with my faculty members to ensure they get the computer or printer they need to meet their needs. I am so grateful to have worked with Ernie over the years and I so appreciate his professionalism and willingness to always be available to assist us when needed when it comes to our ordering of IT equipment. Thank you, Ernie, for all you do.
To: Heather Allen

She shared her onboarding packet that she created with the division and others across campus. It is extremely helpful and something I will use in the future.
To: Jenna Press
From: Gabby Hensley
Jenna used her magic to condense a couple of Communique articles for Success Stories and I truly appreciate it! We had a tight turnaround, and she was able to masterfully complete it without hesitation. Thank you for your positivity and hard work in all that you do!!

To: Jonathan Jones
From: Robyn Colbert
Jonathan Jones is the Instructional Technologist for the UCCS College of Public Service and is assigned to the Social Work department to help with any issues/education for faculty. I have utilized Jonathan on more than 1 occasion and he always goes above and beyond and will also educate me along the way in a very kind and caring manner. This last time I met with him by email and then over the phone, we were figuring out a situation with Canvas and transfer of the course that would meet my needs specifically for the dilemma I was having. He gave me all the time I needed and explained the different options and would repeat them if needed and he helped me to come to a good starting point for this next semester’s course and my work beforehand that needs to be completed. He was so gracious in helping me figure out what I did not know or realize and then proceeding to do whatever I decided upon in the end. He also stated that he is available to help me and to just reach out. He made me feel like it was a very personal service and that he will be there to support me and that we can do some other things down the road to help me out as well. He sent me videos of ‘How To’s and his calming demeanor and tone was perfect and what I needed. You can say this is his job but he has always gone above and beyond and is reachable or will get to you quickly and that is comforting and needed for someone like me who is not a full-time faculty person but treats me with respect and kindness regardless. He is the BEST and I heard this long before I started reaching out to him from other colleagues. He deserves this KUDO in a big way!! I value and appreciate a person like this and in his position.
To: Justin Brammen
From: Colleen Stiles
Justin is a Bachelor of Innovation senior. He ran the video camera at graduation and was so on top of it. He managed to get films of families, creative angles, and students graduating. We appreciate you Justin!
To: Katie Harris
From: Anon.
Katie is not only an incredibly smart and diligent colleague, she consistently goes above and beyond what is required of her assigned job duties to help others out. She is super responsive and takes on “other duties” even when they are not “assigned.” Katie is always responsive and she is kind to everyone, as well as helpful! I’m so honored to work with her in the College of Business.
To: Lindsay Knell
From: Regina Winters
Logistics is a hard skill to master, but when it is done so well that multiple parties recognize the smooth execution, we must celebrate the organizer. Lindsay coordinated several faculty searchers and each candidate remarked that they had not an visiting experienced as well organized and as warm as their visit to UCCS. That organization and the spirit of welcome, comes from Lindsay Knell.

Hard worker, patience, clear communication and honest.
To: Shad Harder
From: Rose Johnson
Shad Harder made it possible to set up the English Department’s new Xerox machine. The department had been without a copier since July. It has been since July of this year, when our old copier suffered water damage from a broken water heater that sat above it on the 2nd floor. Xerox was unable to fix it, and I had to order a new one, which was backordered due to supply-chain issues. So, we finally had the new copier come in, but Xerox did not send anyone out to set it up. Shad was able to set the new machine up. Again, I am extremely grateful to Shad for helping me out and for his professionalism and willingness to go way above his job duties by making sure that we finally had a working copier. I personally want to thank Shad and I know my department wants to thank him also.
