The UCCS Ethics and Compliance Program has launched a new website developed to provide information and tips to assist the campus community in maintaining best practices for remote work, as well as where to find information when working remotely.

UCCS uses the best technology to protect data and secure information on campus, but working, teaching and learning away from campus can pose risks to securing information. It's essential that all remote work be performed in a secure computing environment.

The new website offers advice in six different areas:

Technical Safeguards (Technology Tips)

Physical Safeguards

Human Resources

Student Information (FERPA)

Telehealth (HIPAA)

Administrative Safeguards - Related Polices and Resources

Remember, remote work does not put data at risk if workers are educated about best practices. Remote working requires employees to be vigilant and aware - take advantage of this new resource and make your remote working experience smoother and more secure.
