The roster gets update

In an effort to reduce expenses and paper consumption, the Personnel Roster and Approved Budget book, generally known as “the roster” will change for next year.

RosterFor more than 30 years, the Budget Office has printed 100 to 150 copies of the 175-plus-page document. The book contained every faculty and staff member’s salary as well as department operating expenses, according to Gayanne Scott, senior executive director, Resource Management Division. Copies of the roster were distributed to deans, department directors, financial assistants, members of the University Budget Advisory Committee, and placed on file at the Kraemer Family Library.

Beginning in July with the fiscal year change, the Budget Office will produce only a handful of printed Personnel Roster and Approved Budget books with fewer pages that show consolidated financial information.

“We call it a roll up,” Susan Szpyrka, vice chancellor, Administration and Finance, said. “The printed document will show the amount spent on personnel as well as other expenses. The detail is all available online.”

The shift will save printing costs and waste less paper. Those interested in seeing budget details can visit https://www.cu.edu/budgetpolicy/accountability-data-center
