EPIIC to host UCCS Global Game Jam

GGJUCCS will participate in one of the world’s largest game development programs Jan. 24 – 26.

The Global Game Jam brings together thousands of game programmers from around the world in hopes of creating the next “it” game. Participants are encouraged to think of new gaming structure or new themes that haven’t been used in games and then have 48 hours to bring their concept to reality.

According to the Global Game Jam’s website, the event will take place at hundreds of locations around the world. Last year, more than 16,700 participants logged more than 700,000 hours at 300 sites in 63 countries and created more than 3,000 games. Many of the games developed went on to become fully realized games.

The event is sponsored by the UCCS El Pomar Institute for Innovation and Commercialization and is free and open to anyone, 15 years and older, who can commit to a weekend of innovation and collaboration all in the name of gaming fun.

EPIIC will provide food and drinks during the event as indicated in the schedule. In the vicinity of the location vending options are available for food and drinks.

Attendees will not be required to pay for parking.
