In Memory: Andrew Fa’afouina Mafo’e

Andrew Fa’afouina Mafo’e, 39, was a Geography and Environmental Studies major at UCCS.

Andrew Fa’afouina Mafo’e, 39, a Geography and Environmental Studies student in the College of Letters, Arts & Sciences, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Aug. 28.

Andrew served his country honorably in the United States Army from 2000 to 2007 and was pursuing his degree as a full-time student at UCCS. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday, Sep. 17 at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, located at 4925 N. Carefree Circle.

Andrew is survived by his parents; his wife, Fa’agatasi Lami Mafo’e (Tasi) and his brother and sisters.

Andrew Fa’afouina Mafo’e, 39, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Saturday, August 28, 2021.

Andrew is survived by his parents; his wife, Fa’agatasi Lami Mafo’e (Tasi); sisters, Christina Sosetina Lili Mafo’e and Leone Eloise-May Jordan; brother, Patrick Fa’afofola Mafo’e; grandmother, Lily Cooke; nieces, Meli Mafo’e, Leone Mafo’e, Ophelia McCall, Leonarah Mafo’e, Lovely Mafo’e; and sister-in-law, Shirani Lolohea Mafo’e.

Andrew was born in Pago Pago, American Samoa on July 3, 1982 to Sio Mafo’e and Lili Dorothy Mafo’e. He was in pursuit of his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs in Geography and served his country honorably in the United States Army from 2000 to 2007. On December 31, 2004 he married Tasi Mafo’e, a healthcare admin executive in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Andrew was a patient, devoted, and loving husband. He enjoyed music, fishing, grilling, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. Andrew was a humble and caring individual with a very big heart. Andrew will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
