A search will begin immediately for a new campus director of human resources, Susan Szpyrka, vice chancellor, Administration and Finance, announced Wednesday.
Cindy Corwin, director, Office of Human Resources, told Office of Human Resources staff Wednesday that she will resign effective April 24 to accept a position with the Colorado Department of Personnel Administration as director of total compensation.
“This was a difficult decision,” Corwin said. “I love this campus and the growth potential here is exciting. It will be difficult to leave.”
Corwin began at UCCS in 2008 and previously held positions at CU Denver for a total of 20 years service to CU.
Szpyrka praised Corwin and her work at UCCS and assured faculty and staff that personnel matters will continue to receive priority treatment. While a search is conducted, faculty and staff are encouraged to contact Susan Watson, senior human resources consultant, Office of Human Resources, [email protected], 255-3848, or Valerie Bivens-Young, general professional, Office of Human Resources, [email protected] or 255-3307 with human resource-related questions. Additional information is available on the department website, http://www.uccs.edu/~hr/ and the “contact us” button.
Szpyrka said a posting for a new director of human resources will be made to CU Jobs no later than April 30. She hopes to complete the search by Aug. 1.
