Memorial services are scheduled for 4 p.m. April 4 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 4925 Farmingdale Drive, for Jim Tidwell, former associate director of the Office of Admissions and Records. He died March 24 at his Colorado Springs home following an extended battle with cancer. He was 64.
In lieu of flowers, family members suggest plants in memory of Jim’s love of gardening or donations to the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 720 S. Colorado, Denver, CO 80246. Plants and notes of condolence should be sent in care of the church.
For 34 years, Jim was a staff member in the Department of Admissions and Records, retiring in 2010 as associate director and having been the lead staff member for the ISIS admissions module. He graduated from UCCS with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1975.

James G. Tidwell
James G. Tidwell, age 64, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1955 and formerly of Union City, Tennessee, passed away on March 24, 2013 at his home in Colorado Springs. He was the Associate Director of Admissions at University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. James Gary Tidwell was born on May 11, 1948 in Battle Creek, Michigan to the late Ferrell D. Tidwell and Mary Louise Johnson Corum. He was a 1967 graduate of Central High School in Cheyenne, Wyoming and a 1975 graduate of UCCS, of Colorado Springs. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. Jim enjoyed sharing with friends on Facebook, reading the Bible and sharing with others. He will be best remembered for his generosity. This man of faith is survived by his son: Jeremy (wife, Amy) Tidwell of Colorado Springs; his granddaughters: Alyssa and Jacy; his brother: Phillip (wife, Terri) Tidwell of Cheyenne, Wyoming; his sisters: Linda (husband, Richard) Larsen of Colorado Springs; Joy (husband, Ron) Harris of Denver, Colorado and Laura (husband, Brad) Brigham of Cottage Grove, Minnesota. He is also survived by his dear friend: Susan Carey of Gainesville, Florida and a host of relatives and friends. Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 pm on April 4, 2013, at Bethel Lutheran Church, 4925 Farmingdale Drive, Colorado Springs. A reception will follow in the Christ Center of the Church.
