{"id":9310,"date":"2013-01-17T12:33:16","date_gmt":"2013-01-17T19:33:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/?p=9310"},"modified":"2013-01-17T12:33:16","modified_gmt":"2013-01-17T19:33:16","slug":"college-of-engineering-to-host-open-house-for-prospective-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/?p=9310","title":{"rendered":"College of Engineering to host open house for prospective students"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The UCCS College Engineering and Applied Science will have an open house for prospective students from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Jan. 17 in the Osborne Center for Science &amp; Engineering\u00a0\u00a0as well as the Engineering &amp; Applied Sciences Building.<\/p>\n<p>The event will include interactive demonstrations led by professors and tours of the college\u2019s labs. The demos will cover mechanical and aerospace engineering, computer science, and electrical and computer engineering.<\/p>\n<p>According to Nancy Hoist, administrative assistant, College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, the open house offers perspective students a chance to get to see\u00a0 the college up close.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a great opportunity for perspective students to get face time with our faculty and to see what the college has to offer,\u201d Hoist said. \u201cIt\u2019s a chance for them to get excited about their future and what they can aspire to be if they come to UCCS.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The event is free and open to the public.
