Ballots for the UCCS General Education Curriculum Model were sent by email to all UCCS faculty members who are eligible to vote this week.<\/p>\n
Andrea Hutchins, president, Faculty Assembly, and associate professor, Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences, encouraged faculty members to follow the link in the email and to cast votes by 5 p.m. Nov. 30.<\/p>\n
The link in the ballot email can only be used to vote one time. Hutchins encouraged faculty to not forward the email to others. Faculty who did not receive an email should first check their \u201cJunk mail\u201d folder. If an email is not found, she encouraged faculty members to contact her at andrea.hutchins@uccs.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n The UCCS Faculty Assembly agreed Nov. 9 to ask all UCCS faculty to vote on the new general education curriculum model for the campus.<\/p>\n The general education plan outlines an approximately 24 credit hour across-campus curriculum designed to support the goals of helping students in core competencies of \u201cevaluate and create,\u201d \u201cknow and explore\u201d and \u201cact and interact.\u201d Several faculty committees have worked on the goals and details of a proposed curriculum with Faculty Assembly input at several stages, according to David Moon, interim provost.<\/p>\n Jeff Ferguson, professor, College of Business, and Christina Jimenez, associate professor, Department of History, co-chaired a faculty general education task force. The pair developed a video presentation to explain general education and its progress.
