{"id":852,"date":"2010-04-22T16:57:16","date_gmt":"2010-04-22T22:57:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/?p=852"},"modified":"2010-04-30T11:13:14","modified_gmt":"2010-04-30T17:13:14","slug":"awards-ceremony-comes-to-ballroom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/?p=852","title":{"rendered":"Awards ceremony comes to ballroom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2010 Campus Awards Ceremony will be at 3:30 p.m. May 4 in the University Center Ballroom, the first time the new venue will be used for the traditional campus spring event.<\/p>\n<p>The annual ceremony honors members of the campus community for their contributions and work during the past year.<\/p>\n<p>Featured awards and recipients are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Outstanding Teacher Award: Robert Sackett, professor, History<\/li>\n<li>Faculty Award for Excellence in Research: Chip Benight, professor, Psychology<\/li>\n<li>Faculty Award for Outstanding Contribution to Diversity and Inclusiveness: Barbara Joyce, associate professor, Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding Instructor Award: Linda Button, instructor, Education<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding Staff Award: Jane Muller, program assistant, Women&#8217;s and Ethnic Studies and Center for the Study of Government and the Individual<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding Volunteer Award: Hans Post Uliterweer, Kraemer Family Library<\/li>\n<li>Special Chancellor&#8217;s Award: Lee Ingalls Noble, retired director, Financial Aid and Student Employment<\/li>\n<li>Special Chancellor&#8217;s Award: Steve Ellis, interim associate vice chancellor, Student Success and Enrollment Management<\/li>\n<li>Chancellor&#8217;s Award: Gene Abrams, professor, Mathematics<\/li>\n<li>Alumni and Friends Award: Becky Medved, CEO, Peak Aging, and interim chair, College of Business Alumni Association<\/li>\n<li>Campus Sustainability Award: Judith Rice-Jones, retired senior instructor, Kraemer Family<\/li>\n<li>Student Achievement Award: Caleb Rainey, senior<\/li>\n<li>Student Employee of the Year Award: Staci Ruddi, senior<\/li>\n<li>Thomas F. McLaughlin Award: Jason Shaver, senior<\/li>\n<li>Thomas F. McLaughlin Award: Kelsey Barry, senior<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A reception follows the awards ceremony.
