Rendering depicts vision of streetcar service on Tejon Street in downtown Colorado Springs.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A feasibility study discussion of streetcars as public transportation will come to UCCS beginning at 5:30 p.m. April 26 at the University Center.<\/p>\n<p>The public meeting is intended as a forum to discuss the possibility of a streetcar system in Colorado Springs with one of the potential routes being along North Nevada and connecting campus to downtown.<\/p>\n<p>Topics include potential route alignments, funding options and streetcar vehicle designs, environmental benefits of such a system and updates as the feasibility study enters its final phase.<\/p>\n<p>Streetcars operated in Colorado Springs from 1887 to 1931 with a ridership peak in 1911. Some cities are embracing the old fashioned idea to deal with modern transportation challenges.
