{"id":7806,"date":"2012-08-31T10:11:25","date_gmt":"2012-08-31T16:11:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/?p=7806"},"modified":"2012-08-31T10:27:37","modified_gmt":"2012-08-31T16:27:37","slug":"media-services-airs-first-uccs-original-tv-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/?p=7806","title":{"rendered":"Media Services Airs First UCCS Original TV Show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Media Services is broadcasting the first UCCS original content to the Colorado Springs and Pikes Peak Region communities.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"740\" height=\"417\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VNw-o4EWgnI?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Syllabus\u201d is a video news magazine that highlights UCCS community-directed efforts to be aired quarterly on television and online.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe UCCS community is doing a lot of interesting things that we want to share with the Colorado Springs and Pikes Peak Region communities,\u201d Kelsey Hunt, associate director, Media Services, said.<\/p>\n<p>Hunt, who won two Emmy Awards while working on \u201cAs the World Turns,\u201d is excited to create original contented showcasing what the UCCS community is doing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s unbelievable how active our community is,\u201d Hunt said. \u201cWe\u2019re only on our second episode and we already have a list of stories to cover.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Topics range from student features to faculty to staff research projects, and from university events to university milestones like the Memorial Hospital vote.<\/p>\n<p>On top of showcasing the UCCS community, \u201cThe Syllabus\u201d is also providing valuable hands on experience for UCCS two communication students.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWorking on the Syllabus while being in school has challenged me,\u201d Erick Murphy, senior, digital filmmaking said. \u201cIt has forced me to work on time management, while utilizing the skills I\u2019ve learned from my schooling and job in Media Services.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The next episode of \u201cThe Syllabus\u201d is scheduled to air at the end of September on Comcast Channel 20, and will be posted to the UCCS YouTube page.
