{"id":6517,"date":"2012-04-05T16:00:54","date_gmt":"2012-04-05T22:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/?p=6517"},"modified":"2012-04-04T15:37:56","modified_gmt":"2012-04-04T21:37:56","slug":"agilent-technologies-donates-test-equipment-to-college-of-engineering-and-applied-science","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/?p=6517","title":{"rendered":"Agilent Technologies donates test equipment to College of Engineering and Applied Science"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Agilent Technologies Inc. recently donated electronic test and measurement equipment valued at more than $200,000 to the UCCS College of Engineering and Applied Science.<\/p>\n<p>The donation of Agilent InfiniiVision 3000 X-Series oscilloscopes was made in recognition of the long-term, strong relationship between Agilent and the College of Engineering and Applied Science. A celebration of the donation was held Thursday afternoon during an unveiling ceremony at the university.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur gift to the College of Engineering and Applied Science at UCCS aligns with Agilent\u2019s education support objectives,\u201d said Jay Alexander, vice president and general manager of Agilent\u2019s Oscilloscope Products Division. \u201cIt allows us to give back to the community in which we do business and support the engineering college\u2019s research in a collaborative way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In accepting the equipment, UCCS Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak, also noted Alexander\u2019s leadership role.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJay is an important member of the college\u2019s Leadership Council, and this donation is a special example of his and Agilent\u2019s philanthropic spirit,\u201d Shockley-Zalabak said.<\/p>\n<p>Dan Dandapani, dean, College of Engineering and Applied Science, also spoke at the ceremony, noting the special relationship the college has with Agilent. He mentioned the company\u2019s willingness to lend advanced measurement equipment in support of student research projects and its history of employing UCCS graduates.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Wickert, professor, College of Engineering and Applied Science, said: \u201cThese new oscilloscopes provide our students and research faculty with cutting-edge measurements to help them develop new, breakthrough technologies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The award was made through Agilent\u2019s University Relations program.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are confident that this will be an important contribution to the educational program of the college\u2019s electrical and computer engineering department, and we hope it will foster even closer ties between our organizations,\u201d Alexander said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>Agilent Technologies Inc. recently donated electronic test and measurement equipment valued at more than $200,000 to the UCCS College of Engineering and Applied Science.
