<\/a>Palisades earned a gold award for its integration of technology into the senior living community and a silver award for its fitness and wellness program. Award recipients were selected by a jury of sixteen industry experts who specialize in the 50-plus housing industry. There were more than 175 nominations for the awards from around the world.<\/p>\n\u201cThese awards recognize the power of collaborative partnerships and innovation,\u201d Toby Gannett, executive director, Palisades, said. \u201cSince 2004, UCCS and Palisades have worked to make the best senior housing in the country. Together, we\u2019ve earned more than two dozen awards. More importantly, we\u2019ve improved the lives of our residents.\u201d<\/p>\n
The nomination of Palisades for the NHBA Award was supported by the Colorado Springs Housing and Building Association and its board president, John Cassiani.<\/p>\n
Faculty and students from the UCCS College of Letters, Arts and Sciences and the Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences have worked for more than eight years to develop an integrated model of fitness and wellness promotion at Palisades.
