{"id":5816,"date":"2012-02-03T09:55:13","date_gmt":"2012-02-03T16:55:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/?p=5816"},"modified":"2012-02-03T12:04:34","modified_gmt":"2012-02-03T19:04:34","slug":"proctor-gamble-veteran-is-february-epiic-speaker","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/?p=5816","title":{"rendered":"Proctor &#038; Gamble veteran is February EPIIC speaker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mark Ciccone, president, MAC Associates,\u00a0Boston, will explore the topic of corporate innovation as the next EPIIC Night speaker scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Feb. 13 in the upper level of the Lodge.<\/p>\n<p>EPIIC Nights is an El Pomar Institute for Innovation &amp; Commercialization monthly lecture series.<\/p>\n<p>Ciccone, a successful business leader and consultant with global experience, will define innovation and explain why some companies are more successful than others. \u00a0He will discuss key elements of innovation such as strategy, culture, leadership, organizational capabilities, and execution, along with theory and some real world examples.<\/p>\n<p>Ciccone started a consulting career specializing in innovation with Monitor in Cambridge, Mass., after 32 years with Proctor &amp; Gamble. At Proctor &amp; Gamble, he held a number of senior positions and was head of sales for the U.S. Health and Beauty Care Division and commercial director for P&amp;G Italy. His go-to-market innovation expertise covered product development and sales and retail as well as some areas of marketing and supply chain management.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMark Ciccone was driving innovation for Proctor &amp; Gamble long before innovation was a buzz word,\u201d said Terrance Boult, El Pomar professor of Innovation and Security.\u201cHis innovations are not about \u2018things,\u2019 but about helping companies innovate in how to go-to-market.\u00a0UCCS and the Bachelor of Innovation program are working with Mr. Ciccone, along with the Colorado Springs based Global Market Development Center.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Complimentary food and beverages will be served.
