Tickets go on sale Jan. 22.<\/p>\n<p>Burke initially used the phrase \u201cMe Too\u201d in 2006 to raise awareness of sexual abuse and assault. It was adopted into a larger movement in 2017 when allegations were made against Harvey Weinstein and later other individuals when actress Alyssa Milano encouraged victims to say \u201cme too\u201d if they\u2019ve experienced harassment. Burke was among the individuals recognized as the 2017 Time Person of the Year among \u201cThe Silence Breakers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBurke\u2019s message of survival and her leadership to help thousands of other victims come forward makes her one of the defining leaders of our modern society,\u201d said Stephen Cucchiara, director of student activities and community service. \u201cShe has provided women and men the confidence to hold others accountable and for showing everyone how prevalent the behavior was.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>UCCS students, faculty, staff and anyone with a military ID can purchase tickets for $2. General public tickets are $5. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Jan. 22 at the University Center Information Desk and online at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uccs.edu\/speaker\">uccs.edu\/speaker<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The UCCS Significant Speaker is sponsored by the Department of Student Life and the Office of Residence Life and Housing.
