Security Month, the Office of Information Technology invites campus community members to drop off old electronics before a free shredding event Oct. 31.<\/p>\n<p>Items like personal or departmental computers, cell phones, monitors, keyboards, hard drives, floppy drives, USB and tape drives will all be destroyed and recycled during Shred-a-Thon from 9 a.m. \u2013 4 p.m. Oct. 31 at the El Pomar Loading Dock.<\/p>\n<p>Items can be dropped off before the event at the Office of Information Technology Help Desk (EPC 108) or OIT Security (EPC 100).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt can be hard to figure out what to do with old electronics,\u201dNeil Kautzner,\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif;\">IT security analyst \u2013\u00a0 s<\/span><span style=\"font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif;\">ecurity<\/span>, Office of Technology, said. \u201cWe\u2019re hoping to help solve that problem for the campus and have fun with it at the same time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Employees should ensure <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cu.edu\/sites\/default\/files\/RecordRetentionUCCS.pdf\">records<\/a> are transferred to a different device in order to comply with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cu.edu\/ope\/aps\/2006\">CU Administrative Policy Statement #2006<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For questions on the live shredding event, contact <a
